The International Magnesium Association (IMA) will hold the 79th World Magnesium Congress in Barcelona, ​​Spain from August 29 to 31, 2022. During the conference, China Magnesium Technology Co., Ltd. was honored to receive the Excellence Award of the 2022 International Magnesium Association “Commercial Casting Award”.
In particular, it is worth mentioning that this is the second award. Guangzhou Magnesium, one of the parent companies of China Magnesium Technology, and Mobike won the 2018 International Magnesium Association “Commercial Casting Award” Excellence Award for their revolutionary development of magnesium alloy shared bicycle integrated wheel castings.
The China Magnesium Technology team has continued to explore the field of magnesium alloys and won this honor again. This award-winning project is the first 27.5-inch one-piece magnesium alloy frame developed by China Magnesium Technology. Among them, there are mainly two highlights: first, it is the world’s first super-sized magnesium alloy frame; second , Using the integrated die-casting process pioneered by China Magnesium.

This one-piece frame, without welding joints, is installed with the Bafang central motor, and is formed by a 3000-ton locking force die-casting machine at one time. By combining magnesium alloy materials with injection molding technology, China Magnesium Technology is now able to produce lightweight, rigid frames with hollow tube geometry. This frame is 30% lighter than the traditional aluminum alloy frame, and can be restored to its original shape when it is deformed by an impact. It has good shock absorption, making the riding experience better, and truly achieves light travel.
And, compared with the current state-of-the-art technology, these magnesium alloy frames are 100% recyclable, reducing carbon emissions by 50% during the manufacturing process, in line with current green emission reduction requirements, and very environmentally friendly.
General Manager Feng of Taishan Zhongmei Technology Co., Ltd. said: “We have finally brought a milestone change to the mass production of bicycle frames. With our first one-piece large-size magnesium alloy electric bicycle frame, Zhongmei Technology proves that it is possible to efficiently mass produce lightweight, large-scale integrated bicycle frames with extremely high stiffness in China. Each mold of Zhongmei Technology can produce 600 frames a day; a single robotic arm, less than 120 seconds A complete frame can be produced in one shot without any welding lines. With high output, it saves production costs, increases efficiency, greatly reduces defects, and reduces CO2 emissions by more than 50%. At the same time, Compared with aluminum frames, the frame has higher stiffness, lighter weight and better riding experience. This is a revolution in the production technology of bicycle frames.
