Magnesium alloy castings

Magnesium alloy castings

In the process of die-casting production, the selection of appropriate process parameters is the premise of obtaining high-quality castings to maximize the productivity of the die-casting machine and is the basis for the correct design of die-casting molds. In the process of die casting, there are many factors that affect the filling and forming of alloy liquid, including injection pressure, injection speed, filling time, and die temperature. Due to the varying wall thickness and complexity of die castings, the selection of process parameters can vary widely.

Because the chemical, physical parameters, and die-casting characteristics of magnesium alloys are quite different from those of aluminum alloys, the design principles of aluminum alloy die-casting molds cannot be fully applied to the design of the mold.

The Process and Importance of Die Casting Molds

Die casting molds are an essential part of the die casting process. They are used to create complex and precise metal parts by injecting molten metal into a mold cavity under high pressure. The molds used in die casting are designed to withstand high temperatures and pressures, and they are made from materials that are able to withstand the heat and pressure of the process.   The process of die casting begins with the preparation of the mold. The mold is made by cutting a cavity into two halves, which are then joined together to form a complete mold. The...
