Magnesium alloy extrusion process: heating ingot → primary extrusion → cutting intermediate billet → heating → secondary extrusion → artificial aging → stretch straightening → cutting head and tail sampling → roll straightening → manual straightening → inspection → cutting and printing → Oxidation coloring→finished product inspection→packaging→warehousing. Process features: magnesium alloys are only allowed to be heated in an air resistance furnace; in order to prevent combustion, the maximum heating temperature of various alloys is 470 °C; the maximum extrusion speed is 20m/min, which is faster than hard aluminum alloys, but only soft alloys about 1/3 of that; the shrinkage of magnesium alloy extruded material is larger than that of aluminum alloy, and the size of the die should be increased accordingly. The production process covers investment casting, permanent mold casting, die casting, sand casting, forging as well as CNC machining and stamping.
