Die casting is a metal casting process characterized by the pressing of molten metal into a mold cavity under high pressure. The mold cavity is created using two hardened tool steel molds that have been machined into shape, in a process similar to an injection mold. Most die castings are made of non-ferrous metals, especially zinc, copper, aluminum, magnesium, lead, tin and tin-based alloys. Depending on the type of metal being cast, a hot chamber or cold chamber machine is used.

Casting equipment and metal molds represent significant capital costs, which often limit the process to high-volume production. Manufacturing parts using die casting is relatively simple, involving only four main steps, keeping incremental costs per product low. It is especially suitable for a large number of small to medium castings, which is why die casting produces more castings than any other casting process.

Mg合金は、Al合金よりも熱容量が小さく放熱効果が高いため、放熱材料として大きな可能性を秘めています。過去数十年にわたって、マイクロ、ナノ、さらには分子スケールでの基本的な熱伝達を明確に理解して、Mg 合金の熱伝導率を向上させることに専念してきたいくつかの努力がありました。 

Zhongmei は、一般的に使用されている AZ91D マグネシウム合金と比較して熱伝導率を大幅に改善できる Mg 合金の開発を目指して、世界をリードする専門家である重慶大学の Pan Fusheng 教授と彼のチームと共同で、マグネシウム合金材料研究所を設立しました。
